Whirlpool Gas Furnaces – The Cure to Cold Feet
The furnace is the most common residential heating system in the North America. If your furnace is more than 10 years old, upgrading to an eco-friendly system will not only reduce your energy use, but can also help you save money on utility bills.
Choose High Efficiency
Furnace operating efficiency is measured by the Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) rating which measures the percentage of heat delivered to your home from each unit of fuel. An AFUE rating of 80% means that the furnace converts 80% of the fuel it burns into heat for your home while the other 20% is lost through the furnace exhaust. With a high-efficiency 95% AFUE furnace only 5% of the fuel burned is lost through the furnace exhaust. Whirlpool® brand gas furnaces range from 80% to 95% AFUE.
Note: If your furnace is more than 20 years old it likely has an AFUE rating of 60% or less.
Be Eco-Conscious
Energy efficiency upgrades and a new, high-efficiency heating system can significantly reduce your furnace’s pollution output. According to Department of Energy statistics, upgrading your furnace from 56% to 90% efficiency in an average, cold-climate house will save 1.5 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
Innovative Design for Effiicent Operation
All Whirlpool Gold® furnaces are engineered with a unique “serpentine” heat exchanger that provides efficient heat transfer. These efficient systems provide quiet operation, improved air circulation, lower energy costs and increased home comfort. High-efficiency furnaces make use of a secondary heat exchanger to extract additional heat and provide increased savings.
